The ultimate pilot’s chronograph updated with a perpetual calendar
When functional elegance meets top-tier Swiss engineering, an icon is reborn. The new Breitling Navitimer B19 Chronograph 43 Perpetual Calendar marks a natural evolution of one of the most legendary pilot watches in history — now, for the first time, equipped with the sophisticated B19 calibre—a bold statement of technical mastery, timeless design, and lasting reliability.
A new chapter for the Navitimer
Since 1952, the Navitimer has been a benchmark in precision watchmaking for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Today, Breitling takes it further by incorporating its B19 calibre — an automatic movement with perpetual calendar and chronograph — into a regular production model, not just a limited edition.
The 43 mm stainless steel case is topped with a fluted platinum bezel, adding elegant contrast and a refined touch. The signature circular slide rule, originally designed for AOPA pilots, remains a core design feature, staying true to the collection’s identity.
Ice Blue dial with added depth
The Ice Blue dial, with its sunburst finish, strikes a balance between beauty and function. Three sub-dials indicate the day, date, month and leap year, while a moon phase display at noon adds a poetic accent. A curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the contents.
A perpetual calendar made to last
The B19’s perpetual calendar requires no adjustments until the year 2100, provided the watch remains in operation. This mechanism accounts for:
- Months with 30 and 31 days
- February has 28 or 29 days
- Leap years in the Gregorian calendar (except years like 2100)
If the watch stops for several days, the calendar and moon phase must be reset manually.
Calibre B19: excellence in motion
The Breitling Calibre B19 is an in-house automatic movement that features an integrated chronograph, a vertical clutch, and a column wheel. With a 96-hour power reserve and COSC certification, it ensures outstanding accuracy and performance.
Through the transparent caseback, one can admire the meticulous finishing, including Côtes de Genève and polished screws. Comprising 374 components, the B19 is a perfect fusion of technical innovation and horological artistry.
A timelessly versatile piece
This new Navitimer is available with a black alligator leather strap or a seven-row stainless steel bracelet, making it suitable for both formal occasions and everyday wear. A versatile, timeless companion built to endure.
