Maurice Lacroix continues to push the boundaries of artistic watchmaking with the launch of the Aikon Automatic Wotto Limited Edition. With only 1,000 pieces available, this watch fuses urban art, meticulous engraving, and Swiss craftsmanship. It is part of the Urban Tribe series, reflecting the brand’s commitment to creating innovative and characterful timepieces.
Art applied to watchmaking
In 2021, Hungarian artist @Timeengraver engraved an Aikon watch and shared it on Instagram. His work caught the attention of Maurice Lacroix, leading to the creation of the Urban Tribe series, which includes the Aikon Automatic Urban Tribe and Aikon Skeleton Urban Tribe models. The brand returns with a special collaboration with British artist Wotto – @wotto76 (Craig Watkins).
Wotto is known for his whimsical and chaotic designs. His artistic style blends playful and intriguing elements, creating a dynamic and highly expressive visual narrative.
A watch transformed into a creative canvas
The 42mm stainless steel case and integrated bracelet are fully engraved with Wotto’s imaginative motifs. Mushrooms, hearts, skateboarding ghosts, and lightning bolts intertwine with his signature “W,” creating a composition rich in detail and depth.
The watch dial is a true visual spectacle. Against a grey background, a gradient of vibrant colours flows from yellow to blue, highlighting Wotto’s distinctive artistic touch. The minimalist indexes and hands ensure that the artwork remains the focal point.
Mechanical excellence and functionality
Beyond its artistic appeal, this watch houses a high-performance mechanism. The automatic ML115 calibre offers a 38-hour power reserve. The case features a transparent sapphire crystal case back with an anti-reflective coating, allowing a clear view of the intricate movement inside. With water resistance up to 200 meters, it combines durability with elegance.
The ultimate expression of style and craftsmanship
The Aikon Automatic Wotto Limited Edition is more than just a watch—it is a wearable work of art. With a bold design, outstanding finishing, and a strong artistic identity, it exemplifies Maurice Lacroix’s dedication to innovation and personal expression.
